Riga Cathedral Boys’ Choir is one of the most active collectives in the midst of choirs in terms of the amount of performances given. In 2001, the choir received the Great Music Award. The choir has also received the Annual Latvian Music Recording Award for the best recording of music in year 2000. Each year the choir performs in Riga and other Latvian cities dozens of times as well as go on tours abroad. During the period from 1993 to 2014, the choir has released 23 solo music recordings – in of which 17 of those the choir was lead by the conductor and artistic director Martins Klisans – and has participated in the creation of multiple other recordings. The singers from Riga Cathedral Boys’ choir often participate in shows in the Latvian National Opera in Riga and on tours taking both soloist and choral parts.
